Raffaella Modugno is a model from Italy who rise up to become world-famous with her luscious curves and dark tan.

She was born in Ariano Irpino, Province of Avellino in Italy on March 3, 1988. Her parents were Julia and Joseph Modugno who besides her had two more children – son Vincent and daughter Rosanna who is Raffaella’s twin sister.

Growing up she played basketball, eventually becoming a pro. She spent 13 years as a professional basketball player.

But ever since she was a little girl she wanted to become Miss Italia. She started to pursue that dream in 2007 when she competed for the first time. She did not win but she made it to the top 15 semifinalists.

This competition launched her in the modeling world. She worked for several brands before the time came to participate in the next beauty pageant. One of those brands was a certain lingerie brand that will make her very famous later on.

In 2011 she competed for the Miss Curve d’Italia Elena Miro Lazio 2011 and won. This pageant was under Miss Italia organization but it is intended for candidates that are curvier. In the same year, she also applied for regular Miss Italia pageant and she was one of the favorites to wear the crown. However, she was banned from the competition because of the photos she did for that lingerie brand. The photos were too provocative and by that, she broke article 8 of the competition guidelines.

In the press release after the disqualification was written that:
“Raffaella Modugno, Miss Curve d’Italia Elena Mirò Lazio 2011, was excluded from the Miss Italia 2011 contest due to some photos published on the internet. The legal department of Miss Italia and its director Patrizia Mirigliani have taken this decision after having examined—following numerous indications—photo shootings on the network showing ‘poses of nudity and others of semi-nudity with a strong emphasis on the provocative element’.”

She was not the only one that was banned from that competition, her two colleagues Tiziana Piergianni and Alice Belloto shared her destiny.

However, this ban from the beauty pageant did a miracle for her career as a model. After that, she became famous internationally and she got many offers.
Her first cover was for German Maxim in 2012. After that, she did photo shootings for a Riello company calendar.

She worked as a model for many famous brands and campaigns like Bruno Caruso, Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Coin, Prada, Tom Ford, and others.

In 2013 she was featured in GQ Magazine – India issue.

After Raffaella concurred fashion world she tried out as an actress. She got the main role in a music video by Pitbull featuring Kesha for the song “Timber”, and in the video for the song “Sigame” by DJ Ju-Lio featuring Manitu.

She was part of some film productions in Italy which made her interesting in studying drama so she can further pursue her career as an actress.
In 2012 she was dating Diego Forlan, Inter Milan’s soccer player, but the relationship ended in 2013.
