Biography of Nicole Trunfio
Nicole was born on March 16, 1985, in Perth, Australia. She was the youngest one in the family that had four of them. She is partly Italian since her father is originally from Calabria while her mother is Australian. She started primary school in Merredin when her family moved to Australind where she finished primary and high school.
Her career as a model started in 2002 when she won the third season of the Australian television show Supermodel of Australia. After that, she tried herself in the international version Supermodel of the World and won second place. The story goes that prior to a competition a model scout noticed her shopping and invited her to apply.
2005 was the year when she moved to a place more suitable for pursuing her modeling career – New York City.
Until now she worked for many famous Australian and international designers. Some of them are Chanel, Versace, Dolce &Gabbana, Gucci, Dior, Roberto Cavalli, Victoria’s Secret, Valentino, etc. She was a part of Dolce &Gabbana, Lacoste, Sisley, Karl Lagerfeld, Anne Taylor, Sonia Rykiel, BCBG Max Azria, Guess, and Chadwick’s campaigns. Some of the famous photographers he worked with are Steven Klein for the D&G campaign, Richard Avedon for Kenneth Cole campaign, Peter Lindbergh for Vogue (Italian edition), Richard Avedon for Kenneth Cole campaign and others.
Since she was a child she wanted to be an actress, and after arriving in New York she started to study to become one. Moving to New York gave her the chance to act as a mentor on Make Me a Supermodel (U.S. version, second season). Nicole mentored one team in The Face Australia, the first season afterward.
But her first appearance as an actress was a small role in Two Fists, One Heart – an Australian movie from 2008 in which she played Italian temptress Jessica. After that small role she appeared in few more movies such as The Last International Playboy also in 2008, Somewhere (2010), a short movie My First Time (2010) and Paper Planes (I)(2014).
In 2010 she was chosen to replace Miranda Kerr as the face of David Jone’s 2011 winter launch. That same year she tried herself in jewelry design when she released a collection of statement jewelry stating that she designed it to “empower women”.
As for her personal romantic life – she has a long-time boyfriend named Gary Clark Jr. and the couple has been together since 2012. Two of them got engaged in November 2014, after founding out that they will have a baby together. Their son was born on January 11, 2015, and they named him Zion Clark. Zion is her first child at age 29.
