Alessandra Ambrosio Korin is a model and photo model from Brazil. She is best known for her collaboration with fashion house Victoria’s Secret.

Alessandra was born in Erechim in Brazil, on April 11, 1981. Her parents are from Italy and Poland. She was just eight years old when she decided she wanted to be a top model after she saw Karen Mulder on the front page of the magazine. The little girl said: “I want to be like her.” She started modeling classes at the age of 12, and as a fourteen-year-old, she fought her place among the 20 finalists in the model competition in Brazil. Ambrosio was always insecure because of her big ears and with 11 years she had surgery, but after 2 years there were some complications that discouraged her from ever trying plastic surgery again.

She was 15 years old when she began to work for the agency Dilson Stein. After winning the contest for Elite’s face, her career as a model began. Her first big modeling job was the front page of the Brazilian magazine Elle. Since then, she appeared in commercials for brands such as Giorgio Armani, Revlon, Ralph Lauren, and Christian Dior, she also posed for the Pirelli calendar. Alessandra worked collections for fashion houses such as Channel, Prada, and Oscar De La Renta. She appeared in many important magazines, including El, Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bazaar, GQ, Ocean Drive, Marie Claire, Vogue and she is the only model who appeared on the cover of Glamour magazine in the US in 2006.

In 2004, she created her own line of swimwear called Alessandra Ambrosio by Sais. 10,000 of costumes were sold for just one month.

Ambrosio was the face of the British company Next and with them, she recorded her first commercial when she was only 12 years old.

In July 2009, on the cover of the magazine Mary Claire, Alessandra appeared with Sasha Baron Cohen to promote his film from 2009 – Bruno.

Ambrosio first appeared in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2000. In 2004, she was the first of the PINK line and signed an exclusive contract to be the “angel” of this fashion house. In 2005, at a fashion show of the company Victoria’s Secret, she wore underwear made entirely of sweets with his colleagues Adriana Lima, Izabel Goulart, Daucen Cruz, Selita Ebanks, and others. She took part in a fashion show in 2008, only 3 months after childbirth. In 2009, she opened Victoria’s Secret fashion show with big wings in the form of stars, accompanied by the band Black Eyed Peas.

Alesandra appeared on television several times. Once she played herself in an HBO series along with Isabel Goulart. She also appeared in the show Conan O’Brien, then as a guest judge in Project Runway season 2: Team Lingerie and the show Tyra Banks, where he visited twice. In 2006, she had a supporting role in the film Casino Royale, where she played tennis player.

She also appeared in the series How I Met Your Mother (episode: The Yips) on November 26, 2007, along with her colleague’s angels Adriana Lima, Marisa Miller, Selita Ebanks, Miranda Kerr, and Heidi Klum.

When Alessandra moved to New York, Gisele Bündchen “borrowed” her apartment for two weeks while Adriana Lima helped her to translate everything from Portuguese to English. She visits Brazil regularly and calls her parents in Erechim, still considering Brazil as her favorite place in the world, although she traveled all over the world, nothing can replace it.

In 2005, she broke up with model Marcelo Boldrini after she caught him kissing another woman. Later she spent some time with the editor of the magazine, Steve Allain before she started going out with Jamie Mazur.

Alessandra and California businessman Jamie Mazur welcomed their first child on 24 August 2008, a daughter named Anya Louise Ambrosio Mazur.

To stay in shape, she exercises with Brazilian trainer doing a unique exercise, a mixture of samba and capoeira aerobics.
